Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Check wikipedia and you'll find her

whenever i watch a show from the past and i see an actor that i may recognize but don't remember or, just an actor whose character name i know but not their real name (if i miss the credits) or i want to find out background info of a tv/movie i just watched, i almost always end up at wikipedia.

i've driven my mom crazy saying "who's that person? i have to remember to check wikipedia and see if i can find them" and then after i find out who they were i probably bothered her more by telling her the life story of that actor and what they're up to now. retro television provides the best stuff. it's the best website I've been to in a while and i use it mostly for tv info. it's were i found out that Leroy from "Fame" died from an AIDS related illness.

lately though, i've been searching through wikipedia to expand my knowledge on things that i may have become curious about. there was a time where i had about 6 months of free mobile internet and each night i sifted through wikipedia for info on the most random things before i went to sleep. i learned about the most random things. some honestly were nsfw based. the rest, and majority, were uncategorized. the sexuality portal there is probably one of the most interesting things i've read through. i'm definitely not a prude or whore, for that matter, but i've become very informed and what i learned will absolutely be put to good use ;)

It's become a go to source for a lot of media outlets now, but it's a place where people can edit what's there. I too have contributed to the online encyclopedia, but mostly for editing minor grammar mistakes or adding relevant missing info. other than what i've done there, it makes me wonder if what's there is at least 90% truth or what parts have been exaggerated to give whatever article a positive, negative or vandalized kinda funny spin, for example articles of celebrities, musicians like Pete Wentz (i'm glad that page is locked from editing) and past and present members of PATD (no !), and even mega evil big box corporations. like most things on the internet i take what's on there with a few tablespoons of salt. i use what's there and just a grain simply won't do.
